Rapper J.R. Bricks is flying above the competition. This former Air Force Aircraft Mechanic is an acclaimed rapper and astute businessman being the CEO of League of Champions Music Group. After one listen to J.R. Brick's new mixtape entitled "Call Of Duty", it’s evident that the Tallahassee, FL native is destined for greatness. From his polished, yet practical, lyricism to his bass-booming production, the 26-year-old shows off a complete package of artistry that is seldom seen on the independent circuit.
Moreover, the lead single "On The Come Up", featuring Tyler Woods, is impacting urban mixshows and college stations around the country.
The "Call Of Duty" mixtape will be released internationally in early December 2010, but it's already receiving rave reviews from industry insiders.
Many are describing Bricks as Hip-Hop's emerging artist to watch; "J.R Bricks is truly an original and compelling new voice on the Hip-Hop landscape," raves Octavius Crouch, Senior A&R of Universal/Motown Records.
J.R. Bricks has made a name amongst his peers and has established a strong buzz throughout the South by opening for big name acts such as KCi & JoJo, Too Short, Lil Boosie, Lil Webbie, and many more.
Relying on influences ranging from Busta Rhymes, Jay-Z, Andre 3000 and 50 Cent, J.R. Bricks began writing and arranging music in the hopes of following in their footsteps.
Inspired by Hip-Hop’s greatest artists but determined to pave his own lane, J.R. Bricks first made waves after putting out a mixtape called "Last Of A Dying Breed", hosted by DJ Smallz aka Mr. Southern Smoke". He also released a mixtape called "My Name Is Earl", hosted by DJ Doo Wop.
"My unique selling proposition is that I am not afraid to be myself and I incorporate my life's experiences in my music" proclaims Bricks.
"My mother was in the Army and my father is a retired Air Force Master sergeant, so I had a very strong military background. I've been around the world a few times before I was 17. I've seen a lot of things most kids don't see at that age. And I lived in Germany for 7 years," states J.R. Bricks.
His latest single "On The Come Up" with R&B crooner Tyler Woods is head nodding Hip-Hop at its finest – it’s a bonafide hit!
The future looks bright for the charismatic MC. Be on the look out for J.R Bricks' "Call Of Duty" mixtape featuring Tyler Woods, Q-Da$h and Fred The Godson.
