On his new album PolyMath (available on All Natural, Inc.) cap D pulls all of the pieces together and delivers the full spectrum of banging beats, strong lyrics, battle rhymes, concepts, aggressive anthems and laid-back, introspective songs. With production duties handled by No I.D., !LLMiND and cap D, and stand-out cameo verses provided by Brother Ali and Tragedy Khadafi, PolyMath is the surprise hip-hop album of 2010...probably the best album you've (n)ever heard.

"It's kind of basic, but I just set out to make a really good hip-hop record," explains capital D. "On Writer's Block I wanted to tell stories, on Insomnia I wanted to spit politics and on Return of the Renegade I wanted to bring back that mid-90s underground vibe, but on PolyMath I just wanted to make a great record...the best record that I could make." The result is a smashing success.

The !LLMiND-produced "King of the Mountain" features cap D and Brother Ali shooting darts about their personal struggles to find, and define, success in the music game and in life.

The song "Addiction" weaves together a tale discussing addiction in its various forms from "Dave the Dope Fiend shooting that dope" to "Peg on Prozac poppin' them pills" to "Gil the Gambler" who just can't deal.

Perhaps the album's greatest stand-out song is "Live My Life," a soulful guitar-laced track that finds cap D craving for personal and artistic freedom. "Live My Life is the most personal song on the album," reflects cap. "There are always people, both good-intentioned and bad-intentioned, preaching about what we should and should not do, but at the end of the day I just want to take whatever wisdom they've given me and live my life to the fullest in the best way that I know how."

While All Natural's signature song 50 Years continues to stand the test of time as a hip-hop classic, and cap D and his partner Tone B. steadily release underground hits to critical acclaim, a successful career as a solo artist can be added to cap D's list of accomplishments.
