In what seems to be an impossible task in today's hip-hop declining album sales, Lil Wayne beat the odds by selling more than one million units of "Tha Carter III" a week after its release. According to Billboard, "Tha Carter III" is the first album since 50 Cent's "The Massacre" in March 2005 to break a million copies sold in the first week. Kanye West's 2007 "Graduation" was the closest to hit the platinum mark by selling 957,000 units in the first week.
