MP3: Billy Drease Williams Raps Respect

It’s Veterans Day and DTR45 wants to salute all the men and women who have tirelessly fought for and continue to serve this country.

Billy Drease Williams is showing his deference with the release of a new single. So Cold (Salute) is a different kind of hip-hop song. It shouldn’t be. It’s time the airwaves were filled with lyrics that reveal and resist what our brothers and sisters are being asked to do in our country’s name. Listen to it HERE.

Hear it in your mind and feel it in your soul.

We’ve been at war in Iraq and Afghanistan for nearly a decade now. The time to speak up and take action has come and gone, yet the need for activism and voice is still necessary given today's political climate. We have to think, listen, act and salute. Billy does this by threading his stirring sentiments through an equally stirring speech given by Mike Prysner of Iraq Veterans Against the War. The result is a unique song with a sound and message that resonates on many levels. For Billy, there are 365 Veterans Days a year. Today, take the time to hear why.

“Want a real life hero; take a look at the troops.” -BDW
