It seems Guru has a penchant for rapping over old school breaks these days. After rocking to a Black Moon "Who Got Da Props" remake on "Who Got It On Lock," Guru teams up with Lord Tariq for a track called "Knowledge" that's also eeriely familiar. Just slide one word between "Knowledge," that being THE, and you can take a sip of Rakim's juice - even the scratching leading into the chorus and the background "NOOOO" are the same. Honestly if this is Guru's new gimmick I'm not hating on it, because he's two for two in revisiting my old hip-hop favorites. As long as we're revisiting Rakim I'm hoping sooner or later he'll pull a Buckshot and rap to "I Ain't No Joke," and maybe Buckshot in turn could rap to GangStarr's "Manifest." Everybody should get in on the fun!
