Dee-1 Ready to Unleash "I Hope They Hear Me: Vol. 2"

New Orleans, LA - It has been a whirlwind few months for up-and-comer Dee-1. After putting in work for the past couple of years building a slow but steadily-growing fan base around the country, things took off for him after MTV grabbed onto his "Jay, 50 & Weezy" video back in November, adding it to MTV2, MTV Jams and MTVu. The video aired for months, making it onto the Sucker Free Countdown (#16) with no radio support at that time. Since then there has been a great deal of internet support and blog postings, another video added to MTV Jams ("One Man Army" to begin airing soon) and an offer from one of the majors who, for reasons of superstition, shall remain nameless at this time. Awesomely, radio throughout his region has now jumped on the Dee-1 bandwagon recently and added "Jay, 50 & Weezy" just on love. That being said, all this activity had to be leading somewhere....right?

The answer is YES! and thus, Dee-1 is ready to unleash his street album, "I Hope They Hear Me: Vol. 2", upon the world on 2/22/11, solidifying the buzz his recent leaks from the tape have garnered. "IHTHM2" is a 19-track opus telling the story of one man's struggle to come up in the game and his views on life in general. It has few features; Murs, Manny Fresh, Mickey Factz Mac, but they are meaningful ones.

Today's leak from the tape is "It's My Turn" and as the name suggests, Dee-1 has a sense of entitlement based on the hard work these past few years have demanded of him. The video can be expected a week or so before "IHTHM2" drops.

Also in the pipeline for Dee-1 are several showcases at this year's SXSW Festival and a slot on Murs' 'Paid Dues' Festival on April 2nd. He will also be doing a full week of media in NYC from 2/28-3/4 in support of the tape. With luck, we will soon be able to announce his official signing to the afore-non-mentioned major label as well. Stranger things have happened.......stay tuned.
