Prof to Play Several SXSW Showcases This Weekend

Minneapolis native and Stophouse Music Group flagship artist, Prof, will be heading to Austin, TX, this week to perform at three South by Southwest showcases.

Prof is currently on the Lookout Tour with Steddy P, tracking towards Austin. The tour came after a five-date run throughout Minnesota with underground hip-hop legends, Atmosphere, on the Welcome to Minnesota Tour. This year is Prof’s first time at the renowned SXSW festival, one of the largest music festivals in the U.S.

Show information is listed below.

March 18 | SXSW Official Showcase | Emo's (outside) 603 Red River Street, Austin TX

Das Racist, The Cool Kids, Freddie Gibbs , Asher Roth & Nottz , TBA, Blueprint , Skrillex, L.E.P. BOGUS BOYS , Prof, Peter Rosenberg (Host) Friday, March 18 / Door: $TBA / Doors at 7:30p

March 18 | SXSW Showcase | Dirty Bill's Bar 511 Rio Grande, Austin TX

Prof will be bucking out with the Cryphy DJ's, Kid Slyce, and a couple other great DJ's.

March 19 | SXSW Fuggin Awesome Showcase Presented by The Hydrilla | The Blind Pig Pub 317 E. 6th Street Austin, TX

Prof will be performing alongside Killer Mike, Cyhi Da Prynce, Rittz, Jackie Chain, and many more.

Leveraging his catchy songs and must see live show, Prof is constantly setting new benchmarks of success. Three consecutive years of sold-out Minneapolis shows, collaborations with hip hop stars like Yelawolf and Slug, and a statement making performance at 2010’s Soundset festival are some of Prof’s proudest accomplishments to date. His growth is evident in the continued popularity of his last EP, Kaiser Von Powderhorn 2, which is available for free download.

While on tour, Prof has been continuing the Stophouse tradition of free music by giving away 10,000 sampler discs that include the best of his past releases and 3 new songs from his summer 2011 LP titled “GAMPO”.
