Groups like Brand Nubian and Poor Righteous Teachers epitomized the socially conscious, Five Percent Nation-inspired edutainment that dominated hip-hop's golden era. This era had such an impact on Ohio producer J Rawls that he knew it had to be represented on his new album, The Hip-Hop Affect. The video was shot in front of Harlem's legendary Allah School in Mecca (where the Nation of Gods and Earths has been headquartered since the 1960s), and features a cameo from fellow hip-hop veteran John Robinson of Scienz Of Life.
