PR: Pseudo Intellectuals and DTR Ink Revolutionary Deal

As the East Coast recovers, a different force of nature is hitting Buffalo hard as we announce the signing of Pseudo Intellectuals to DTR45. The group - formally comprised of Tone Atlas, Nick Zero, and DJ Cutler - is an upbeat down tempo hip hop-jazz fusion outfit, but that description doesn't even begin to span the heights to which these cats can climb. "The creative partnership we came to will redefine a genre that both band and label have helped to shape, and open the door to a flood (no pun intended) of high calibre Buffalo-based hip hop music for years to come," DTR founder Tony Caferro stated.
"A group like no other," (RapReviews.com) The Pseudo Intellectuals is many ways returning to DTR45 after a decade long romp through the industry. In 2002, Pseudo provided a majority of the production for "Notes From the Underground", one of the most acclaimed DTR releases to date. Shortly thereafter they signed a deal with NYC indie label Fat Beats (as Pseudo Slang); and now years later, they've come back to their roots - a move that allows the band to stay true to their straight forward methods and messages while delivering that truth on a global scale.
The next few months will be busy for Pseudo, starting with the release of "Dope Grindwork", slated to drop in October 2011. Along with the prime performances and production of Pseudo's core, the album will feature Brownman Ali, VJ Brown and Duel of the Iron Mic's supercontender Dr. Ooo to name just a few collaborators. Additionally, several abstract side projects, as well as a full length release from the associated ensemble, The Chillharmonic Orchestra, and, of course, some new vinyl are all in the pipeline.
And with collaboration in mind in the truest sense of the word, this deal goes forward. This here is what they mean when they say match "made in heaven", so stay tuned. You won't want to miss what's coming.
