ERIMAJ, Alecia Chakour & The Osrah, and Waajeed are getting together for a night of dirty soul, improvisational discovery, and hip-hop drenched jazz, next Thursday September 29th at the Littlefield performance and art space in Brooklyn.

From the abstract mind of world-renowned drummer Jamire Williams, ERIMAJ is a progressive new band stirring up the NYC scene that the New York Times called, "properly new, part of something larger, and still unnamed.". This group is comprised of some of the most honored and respected musicians in music today. Outside of his band, Jamire is a preeminent side musician working with the likes of Bilal, Jason Moran, Corrine Bailey Rae, Terrence Blanchard, Roy Hargrove, Christian Scott, and many more.

Dubbed a "breakout young artist" by the New York Times, Alecia Chakour is a soul siren. Armed with a bellowing voice, Alecia uses soul’s great arrangement styles of yesteryear as fodder, coalescing punchy horns, gospel harmonies and an ardent R&B feel to make remarkably honest music.

Along with her band the Osrah (family in Arabic), made up of some of the most unique, powerful and respected musicians from across the music scene, Alecia creates a raw sound deftly described as "sultry badass-ness."

Waajeed is one-half of the Platinum Pied Pipers and a staple in the Detroit music scene. He has produced tracks for Slum Village, Dwele, co-produced with J Dilla on Welcome 2 Detroit, and has worked with Roy Ayers and Radiohead.
