Portland, OR: April 2012. Sandpeople rep The P (aka Portland, Oregon) right on their 3rd new single in recent weeks, produced by fellow P-dweller, Trox.  Trox is a rising star who has already worked with such heavyweights as 50 Cent and Krizz Kaliko.  The P is a perfect example of why Portland hip hop shouldn't be taken lightly and Sandpeople hope to prove this to the rest of the world on their upcoming European tour.  This will be uncharted territory for the crew and to raise support they are urging fans to visit their kickstarter page where plenty of exclusive art, music, and clothing packages are available.  If they meet or exceed their goal it will assist with the European and US tour efforts.  Treat yourself proper - don't sleep on SP or The P!

Woodbridge, VA-based emcee/producers Tehron Porter and Peter Maher are True Prospeks, presenting their James Bostick-directed clip for their new single "Tell Everyone Ya Know". The video was shot in a secluded area of northern Virginia. "Tell Everyone" was produced by Tehron and mixed by engineer Eric Graham, who together go by the production handle SuprDopeBeats. The song samples Swedish band Mike Snow's 2010 track "Song For No One". "We were just kicking it at Eric's apartment and his roommate kept bumping that song," says Tehron. "Ten minutes later I had the beat looped up and already had my verse written. Peter was down in Norfolk visiting so he just came through and dropped a verse." True Prospeks also represents a roster of several other artists/musicians currently working on new material. "Tell Everyone" is from True Prospeks' new full-length Trapper's Delight, which can be downloaded free on Bandcamp.

Gang Colours aka Will Ozanne brings us into his hushed dream-like state for his live performance of "Fancy Restaurant," the lead single from his debut album The Keychain Collection, out now via Brownswood Recordings. When reviewing the album, Pitchfork wrote that for this track, "Ozanne's gorgeous piano melody tumbles through the gauntlet of electronic noises gracefully, like water trickling down a knotted cliff face." The minimalist video provides a quiet backdrop for the piano-driven song and vocals. Laid over a repeating piano motif Will sings, "I know you don't care that much about money / I'm going to make someone take you out." The song gently hypnotizes.
