MP3: billy woods - "Blue Dream" Ft. L'Wren

A few weeks back, billy woods celebrated the release of his latest album, History Will Absolve Me. As his first solo release in eight years, HWAM is an unapologetically dark and dense project, a collection of woods' most personal work to date that he refers to as "wholly uncompromising." And while most rappers shy away from bearing their soul, History Will Absolve Me shows that it's at woods' rawest when he's best.

MP3: Sardars - "Party Life"

Once upon a time, gentle readers, there lived a music artist named Sardar. Sardar was a poet at heart. Problem was, his music mostly reflected the very things he was determined to turn his back on; drug dealing, gang banging, the usual trappings of growing up in the mean streets of Los Angeles from whence he hailed. Sardar sought growth but needed direction. One fine day in the fall of 2011, Sardar found himself in the studio with industry veteran, Wendy Day, playing her some music he was working on. As Day listened to an early rendition of "Party Life", she realized that what sat before her was not in fact a gangster rapper, but a pop star.
