Video: La Coka Nostra - "Mind Your Business" (Produced by DJ Premier)

Always known for tackling controversial topic matter, the group’s sophomore project, Masters Of The Dark Arts, (release date 7-31-2012) finds them once again in torch-bearing mode, addressing subjects that most artists shy away from as ILL BILL illustrates “as conceptually and musically dark as this album appears to be, there's also a flip side layer to it that you may not notice until you listen to it a few times. Masters Of The Dark Arts is a storm before the calm and a celebration of the good things in life that can only be achieved by walking directly into the heart of darkness and facing your inner demons head on."

PR: Awon - "For the Grimy" EP

Small towns always have their hero and Awon is dead set on putting Newport News, Virginia on the map for Underground Hip Hop. Awon was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Newport News, Virginia with his family as a small child to escape the madness of the city. One thing he was able to bring along was a sincere love of The Hip Hop Culture and he was able to hone his skills on the mic to become a prolific lyricist of the modern Underground Hip Hop scene. With a buzz abroad through several releases on independent international labels Awon now seeks refuge in his own home armed with a Mac Book Pro and a mic to create a nostalgic EP called For the Grimy.

MP3: Spoat - "Martians (Freestyle)"

The emerging rapper cleverly maligns more than a few industry vets on this cut over The Game's song "Martians vs Goblins." There hasn't been a track showcasing such cunning wordplay since 50 Cent's "How to Rob."

Adam's World Weekly 7/2 - A Change of Pace

Welcome to the new week, and the new month, everyone. As all of you know, I burn the candle at every conceivable end, and while that's worked perfectly fine for me over the years, I started to feel a little overwhelmed recently. Knowing I needed to make a change or two to my work schedule, I decided to move Pop Shots to Monday starting this week. I have a full explanation as to why, along with not one, but TWO editions of Pop Shots, in this week's update (the newest one is first).
