Chingy Leaves Capitol Records for Def Jam
Posted by Administrator at Tuesday, August 7th, 2007 at 8:15PM :: Email this article :: Print this article

Thanks to www.ballerstatus.com for putting us up on this info. Some of our readers may recall that Chingy was pretty tight with Disturbing Tha Peace artists on his debut album "Jackpot" and in fact had a FORMAL relationship with Ludacris for distribution and promotion, but left the DTP fold over a monetary dispute.

The Game Gets in Trouble in Belgium
Posted by Administrator at Monday, August 6th, 2007 at 11:30PM :: Email this article :: Print this article

Thanks to KA for this news tip. It seems The Game was performing at a local festival called 'Lokerse Feesten' in Belgium when a fan threw a beer cup at the stage. One local newspaper said The Game himself jumped into the crowd and hit the fan several times while another's website claims two of his bodyguards jumped into the crowd and hit the fan. Either way an assault of some sort occured but no charges are being pressed so far. Unfortunately I can't translate Dutch but KA provided a link to the newspaper and their story here, which appears to be the "two bodyguards" version. We'll keep you informed of any further developments.

Posted by Administrator at Sunday, August 5th, 2007 at 11:30PM :: Email this article :: Print this article

We have a new update from www.urbanworldwireless.com in the war of words between Lil Troy and Pimp C. Pimp C rips on Troy in a new freestyle along with his son and wife, who he callously referred to as "a fat bitch." Pimp vowed to defend Rap-A-Lot Records after Lil Troy called the imprint fake, and promises to "come see him" in an envoy of cars. Frankly I hope this one doesn't escalate from the wax to the streets but we'll get you posted on the latest developments.

Pimp C Stirs Up Hip-Hop Controversy & Lil Troy Responds
Posted by Administrator at Monday, July 30th, 2007 at 11:45PM :: Email this article :: Print this article

Port Arthur hip-hop legend Pimp C has been making a name for himself in the news lately. Every day a new revelation seems to come out of his mouth - Russell Simmons is in the closet, Atlanta stole their style from Memphis, and most recently C has attacked Southern rap pioneer Lil Troy by accusing him of snitching on "the whole Northside of Houston." www.BallerStatus.com got this response from Lil Troy to Pimp C's drama: "[Pimp C] is coming after me because I exposed Scarface of being a snitch and introducing hisfriends, George Washington Simmons and Byron Keith Harris, to the Feds as his cocaine suppliers. I went to jail because I was illegally pulled over with two kilos in the car. Pimp ain't even no gangster. I went to jail on drug charges. He got locked up for pulling a gun on a woman in a mall." Undoubtedly Troy's comments will further escalate an already tense situation - we'll keep an eye on it for future updates.
