Steve 'Flash' JuonGai Flame (or Guy Frame) is part of the Langrisser series from Masaya. The original team that made these games would eventually leave Masaya and go on to make Growlanser games. Many of the Langrisser games have not been officially translated or released outside of Japan (one exception being Warsong for Sega Genesis) but there are certainly patches for some if you go looking for them.
To give you the authentic “dumb American gaijin” experience, I did NOT go looking for one for Gai Flame. Now that I’ve spent some time with out though, I’m tempted to patch it and try again! The music is great, the graphics are appealing, and even if I have no idea what I’m doing, the controls itself seem simple enough to use that if it WAS in English, I’d most likely get into this turn based strategy game very quickly. If you like Fire Emblem or Final Fantasy Tactics it’s probably up your alley… but only if you patch it first. Otherwise this game is for Japanese audiences only.
