I respect the heck out of Richard Scarry’s Busytown for Sega Genesis. This cartridge is crammed with more vocal samples and animated characters than you could have ever expected for a game from the era given the size limitations programmers had to work with. It also supports the Sega Genesis mouse if you have one (which sadly I don’t) but doesn’t FORCE you to use it, allowing you to take the bog standard 3-button (or the 6) and access all of the games features.

There’s only one problem here — it isn’t much of a game. It’s an interactive storybook with very few choices or decisions to make. Thus while I respect the technical achievement of Richard Scarry’s Busytown, it’s kind of hard to recommend to anybody, because even the demo that it’s made for has moved on to mobile devices.
