We use the phrase “Genesis Does what Nintendon’t” a lot but we’ve never said “Genesis Does what PC Engine don’t” and that’s a good thing in this case! Mega Bomberman started out as a PC Engine release called Bomberman ’94, and in a curious twist of history there were TWO ports of this game made. The original from Factor 5 supported up to eight simultaneous players through two multi-taps but inexplicably Hudson Soft went with a Westone port instead that can do no more than four.

Perhaps a Norm the Gaming Historian, a Guru Larry or a Jeremy Parish can dig into the reasons why this happened.
