For a brief period of time in 2020, a North American release of Haradius Zero was available through the Video Game Sage website. Once it was gone, it was gone. The Japanese developer (Impactsoft) does seem to occasionally make more Famicom versions for those interested, so you might be able to grab an import version at some point. Why would you want to do so? Well if you’re a fan of classic shoot ’em up games like Gradius, the aptly named Haradius should strike your fancy.

I think it even innovates on the formula by locking in the auto fire, a wink and a nod to the way many of us play these games anyway, leaving the real goal here to choose which firing pattern you want (focused or spread) and learn the enemy waves and tight corridors you maneuver through. It’s still challenging, and given how many things are flying around the screen at once, it’s very technically impressive too!
