I can’t say that a CIB copy of Tatsujin (known in North America as Truxton) for only $15 is the BEST deal I ever got at a game store, but it’s FAR from the worst. These days the localized US version of the game goes for $40 loose and $100 complete, and even the Mega Drive version seen here can go for $35 loose and $50 CIB.

It doesn’t hurt that this game is also a 100% kick ass SHMUP that was underappreciated in its own time and only in hindsight has it grown in recognition and popularity (hence the rising prices). I won’t say you should drop $30-$100 on a copy for either region because that’s a lot of cash, but I +WILL+ say you should try it in emulation or through a device that supports SD card loading and see if it’s a game you’d want to invest that kind of money in. It’s pretty damn fun despite the stiff prices that it continues to draw. Subscribe to Mistah MegaManFan (mmf187) for new episodes of Genesis Does every Thursday at 8 PM ET, 7 CT!
