Considering I called this series The PC Engine Files from the outset, it was only inevitable that I would wind up with an actual PC Engine at some point. The issues my TurboGrafx-16 was having caused me to invest in a complete Core Grafx variant PC Engine from Japan, and by complete I mean controller, power supply, and video cable. No box sadly unless you count the one it was shipped in, but this console plus accessories cost me less than a “loose” TurboGrafx-16 would.

In this video I put the Core Grafx through its paces with Terraonion’s Super HD System 3, which fits on the back like a glove. I should have done this long ago. In fact the more I think about it the more I believe my TG-16’s issues were with the tight fit of the SHD3 bending the control pins on the back, but we’ll come back to that in a future episode.
