After spending a fair part of the day watching JonTron videos trying to find some inspiration for what to right about, I realized the very thing I was looking for was right in front of my face all along – VIDEO GAMES. I’ve talked often enough about how hip-hop has music videos that reference wrestling, food, politics and even prejudice — but what about gaming and gamer culture? Have we ever done THAT list before? Well according to the list I’m looking at we did a list about video game SAMPLES but not a list of music videos with game themes!

So here we go! It’s time for ten hip-hop videos about gaming culture and video games.

1.) TryHardNinja f/ Captain Sparklez – “I Came to Dig”

2.) Waka Flocka Flame – “Game On”

3.) Mega Ran – “AVALANCHE”

4.) DJ I-Dee – “The Right”

5.) Ice Cube – “Street Fighter”

6.) Lil’ Flip – “Game Over”

7.) Mega Ran x The Regiment – “Kung Fu Treachery”

8.) Brentalfloss – “Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon”

9.) Saigon – “Get Busy”

10.) Wu-Tang Clan – “Shaolin Style” *

* double credit for also being IN a game

Bonus Cuts!

Little Brother – “Atari 2600” *

* not an official video but good enough to feature

XV – “When We’re Done” *

* no video game references in the video but the “Kingdom Hearts II” sample is tight
